K/D Ratio Calculator

Result

1.50

Result: 1.50
How the result moves

K/D is kills divided by deaths, nothing more. Exactly 1.00 means you traded evenly; 24 kills against 16 deaths is 1.50. It says nothing about assists, objectives or whether you won, so read it next to those rather than on its own.

Worked examples

How it's calculated

K/D = kills ÷ deaths

  1. StepEnter the kills credited to you on the scoreboard.
  2. StepEnter your deaths — at least one, otherwise the ratio is undefined.
  3. ResultRead the ratio: 1.00 is even, above is more kills than deaths.

What this number means

A ratio, not a skill rating

K/D counts kills and deaths and nothing else: no assists, no objective play, no wins. A passive player can post a high one while the team loses.

Mode and lobby move the number

The same player scores differently in a casual match than in a high-rank one. A 1.2 in a hard lobby can be worth more than a 2.0 in an easy one.

Zero deaths is no ratio at all

Dividing by zero is undefined, so a game without a single death has a kill count and nothing more. That is why this calculator asks for at least one death.

Only the quotient counts, not the size

50 000 kills against 25 000 deaths is the same 2.00 as 2 against 1. A career figure sits steady, while a single round swings far in either direction.

Commonly misread

I went 20 and 0, so my K/D is infinite.

With zero deaths the ratio is undefined, not infinite. That game has a kill count and no K/D.

His K/D is 2.00 and mine is 1.20, so he is the better player.

The number ignores assists, objectives and the lobby you played in. Read it beside those, not instead of them.

A K/D below 1.00 means I played badly.

Below 1.00 only means deaths outnumbered kills. Support and objective play costs deaths the ratio never credits.

Questions

How do I calculate my K/D ratio?

Divide your number of kills by your number of deaths: K/D = kills ÷ deaths. For example, 24 kills against 16 deaths gives 24 ÷ 16 = 1.50. Deaths must be at least one for the ratio to be defined.

What is a K/D ratio?

A K/D ratio is the kill/death ratio shown on the scoreboards of most multiplayer shooters and battle-royale games. It is a single number describing how many kills you scored for each time you died, and it is the quickest way to compare players or track your own form.

What is a good K/D ratio?

A K/D of 1.00 is even — one kill for every death. Above that means more kills than deaths and is generally considered above average; below it means deaths outnumbered kills. What counts as good depends on the game, the mode and the skill of the lobby — a 1.2 in a high-rank match can beat a 2.0 in a casual one.

Why can't deaths be zero?

The ratio is kills divided by deaths, and dividing by zero is undefined. A game where you never died therefore has no K/D ratio, only a kill count. That is why this calculator requires deaths to be at least one.

Does a high K/D ratio mean I am a good player?

Not on its own. K/D counts only kills and deaths — it ignores assists, objective play like planting or reviving, and whether your team won. A passive player can post a high K/D while losing, and a support player with a low K/D can be decisive.
