t = Δt − p
The calculator measures one shift, with minute precision, and subtracts exactly the break you enter. In the formula, Δt is the elapsed time, p the break and t the working time, all in minutes. Choose next day explicitly when a shift crosses midnight.
Identical start and end times mean zero on the same day or a full day with next day selected. A break longer than the shift produces an error. Decimal hours are working minutes divided by 60, for multiplication by an hourly rate; the digits after the decimal point are not clock minutes.
No minimum break, paid-break policy or payroll rounding is applied. The calculation uses clock times without dates or time zones, so daylight-saving changes need a separate check. Start, end and break values stay out of shared links.
Enter the start and end times and the break in minutes. The calculator deducts that break and shows working time in hours and minutes plus decimal hours.
Use the 24-hour clock and select next day. A shift may last up to 24 hours; an earlier end on the same day is flagged as an error.
No, the minutes are divided by 60 to form the fraction of an hour. Use the decimal-hours result for multiplication by an hourly rate.
No, enter the break that should be deducted yourself. Check the applicable working-time and paid-break rules separately.
